Novel Presentation: Interesting Introductions
Engage the audience with an interesting introduction that describes one of the following:

Visual imagery embodied in a stylistic element

Exciting or incredible event (which can be the main problem in the novel)

Interesting character behaviour
-
Interesting character quote, "I never knew flying would be so easy."

Historical significance (setting and time period)
-
Ask the audience a question
-
Do not start your paragraph with the topic sentence…If you love romance, mystery, suspense…then you’ll love…”Until Death Do Us Part,” by Thurston Howle

In Your Own Words, talk about a novel that you really enjoyed reading. Tell the audience why you liked this book.

Presentation tips
Volume: Can the person at the very back of the classroom hear every word you speak clearly?
Speed/pace: Speak slowly and do not be afraid to pause
pronunciation: practice pronouncing difficult words
Confidence: stand up straight and try not to fidget. Make eye contact with the audience. Smile when appropriate.
